The group buys goods and services from around 1,800 suppliers, from specialist engineering contractors to fuel, tyres and stationery. This page explains how we work with them.
Becoming a supplier
Each operating company manages its own purchasing, within group policy. If you would like to be considered, contact the procurement team of the division you wish to supply, through the switchboard on +44 (0)20 7946 0958, and quote your company registration number. New suppliers complete a short questionnaire covering health and safety, insurance, financial standing, data protection and modern slavery.
Payment terms
Our standard terms are payment within 45 days of the end of the month of invoice for most goods and services, and within 30 days for suppliers with annual turnover below £2 million. In the half-year to 30 September 2026, 93 per cent of valid invoices were paid within agreed terms. Invoices should quote a purchase order number and be sent to the address on the order.
What we expect of suppliers
- Compliance with our supplier code of conduct, covering labour standards, anti-bribery and environmental management.
- Evidence of insurance cover appropriate to the work, and site safety induction before any work begins.
- Prompt notification of any incident or breach affecting our people, sites or data.
- Cooperation with reasonable audits, including on modern slavery in the supply chain.
