North Industrial wins five-year maintenance contract with Nordhavn Energy

North Industrial has been awarded a five-year maintenance contract by Nordhavn Energy covering two combined heat and power plants in western Jutland. The contract, which has an option to extend by a further two years, is valued at more than £90 million over the initial term.

The scope covers planned outages, predictive maintenance and 24-hour reactive cover across both sites. Around 120 technicians will work on the contract, of whom roughly 40 will transfer from the incumbent provider under TUPE arrangements. North Industrial has begun recruiting additional mechanical and instrumentation staff in Esbjerg.

“Nordhavn runs baseload plant that cannot afford unplanned downtime, and that is the kind of work we are built for,” said Daniel Okonkwo, Chief Executive of North Industrial. “We have taken on the contract with a mobilisation plan that assumes we inherit none of the incumbent’s history, so the first six months will be about inspection and building our own reliability picture.”

Mobilisation begins in January 2027, with the first planned outage scheduled for the spring. The award takes North Industrial’s contracted order book to £1.2 billion and brings the division’s site count to 34 across the United Kingdom and northern Europe.
